Like Mother, Like Daughter is a theatre project for mothers and daughters from different faith groups. Originally created with OFFTA, Montreal, in 2014, it has played in Montreal, London and Yorkshire.
I created this trailer after making an audio recording of the show. I played this audio recording back to each mother and daughter, capturing their silent reactions on video. The concept conveys the rubric of the live show, without giving anything away. Rather than facing each other, the mothers and daughters face us as they react to a recording of their own, candid discussions. The confrontational nature of the video, and the unflinching honesty and touching vulnerability of the subjects helps give the viewer a sense of what the show has to offer.
