Writers Jenni Armstrong and Jez Scharf approached me to design their wedding identity and associated packaging and stationery. They wanted the design to reference their various historical homes in London, Edinburgh and Durham, as well as referencing the Art Deco graphical style of the 1930s. They also had a special beer brewed for the occasion, and needed a label design that reflected the wedding identity. They also required invites, menus, a table plan, RSVP cards, and a monogram stamp for wedding favours etc.

Working with their reference images, the style that they desired was quickly identified, as well as deciding on a two-colour design, along with the 1920s classic, Gill Sans, as the lead font. Classic transport imagery and artwork from the era was used as an inspiration for the invite and typesetting. The monogram embodied deco simplicity and the beer label was stylised with a nod to the effects normally achieved with two-colour processing.
